Is Twitter still down in UK? Popular social media platform goes offline with users unable to see posts

A number of Twitter users were left unable to retrieve posts on the social media site this afternoon.

The timeline on the popular website stated "unable to retrieve tweets at this time" for many, as it urged people to try again later.

There were more than 4,000 reports on Downdetector, a popular website which covers when websites and platforms appear to be down or offline.

However, it appears that the platform is back online now.

A Twitter spokesperson told the Standard: During regular service testing, there was an issue causing Twitter to not load for some people for about 10 minutes. This issue is now resolved so you can keep on Tweeting!"
