King's Cross St Pancras Tube station was evacuated in rush hour this morning.

Commuters were cleared from the station due to a fire alert at about 8.45am.

A spokeswoman for Transport for London said the station was evacuated and closed as a precaution, but investigators found there was no fire.

The emergency piled on the misery for commuters after a signal failure at King's Cross had caused the suspension of several lines during this morning's rush hour.
