Frustrated commuters faced huge delays after a person was taken ill on the Victoria line during the morning rush hour.

Huge crowds gathered outside Brixton and Victoria amid reports of people being trapped on stationary Tube trains between stations.

It came as temperatures are set to soar again on Tuesday, with a peak of around 25C in the capital.

It is unclear when the service will start running as normal.

Rhian Wilkinson tweeted a picture of a huge crowd outside Victoria Tube station, saying: “Have been waiting 15 minutes and no one’s told us what's happening.”

Meanwhile other commuters talked of "chaos" at Seven Sisters and delays at Green Park and Walthamstow.

Chloe Gould said: "If hell is other people then purgatory is trying to get @victorialine from #Euston at #RushHour"

A TfL spokesman advised that tickets would be accepted on London buses or other reasonable routes.
