Woolwich Ferry passengers have been warned services could be delayed or cancelled on Monday after boats were suspended at the weekend.

Transport for London said no ferry services ran on Sunday because of "operating issues" which is expected to run into next week.

Passengers have been urged to check before travelling.

The fault, reportedly caused by an exhaust failure, caused severe delays at the Blackwall Tunnel as a result of increased traffic.

The problem was first reported on Saturday afternoon.

The Woolwich Ferry, which links Woolwich and North Woolwich, runs every five to 10 minutes during the week and every 15 minutes at weekends.

According to TfL, it carries around a million vehicles and more than two million passengers a year.
