Boy, 15, to face Luke murder charge

12 April 2012

A 15-year-old boy is due to appear in court accused of murdering a teenager who was stabbed to death following an argument at a party.

Merseyside Police were called to a house in Ashcombe Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, just after 7am on Saturday where they discovered Luke Howard had been stabbed.

The victim, who was 16 and from the Old Swan area, was taken to hospital but later died.

Four bunches of flowers, including yellow roses and white carnations, were later placed on the pavement near the gate of Number 9 Ashcombe Road.

A police car was also stationed near the front door.

A second post-mortem examination is due to take place after a Home Office post-mortem on Saturday, said a police spokeswoman.

She said: "A second post-mortem will take place before the results are released. We are also waiting for toxicology results.

"When there is a suspicious death there are always two post-mortems."

A 15-year-old boy arrested in connection with the death will face Liverpool Youth Court charged with murder.
