Four teenagers have been arrested after a girl claimed she was sexually assaulted in a leisure centre pool.

The 13-year-old was in the swimming pool at Larkfield Leisure Centre in Aylesford, Kent, when the alleged attack happened.

The boys, two 14-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, are asylum seekers who live in a residential unit near Staplehurst, 15 miles from the leisure centre.

They have been released on police bail until May 11.

Officers are now examining CCTV footage. A spokesman at Larkfield Leisure Centre said: "We are co-operating with the police investigation."

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl at Larkfield Leisure Centre on March 25 of this year, between 5pm and 6.30pm.

"Four teenage boys aged between 14 and 17 were arrested in connection with this incident and they are currently on police bail while further enquiries are carried out."

A Home Office spokesman said he was unable to give details about the four teenagers arrested.
