Celebrations launches Bounty-only tubs

Bountys are back in Celebrations, too

Last Christmas, Mars Wrigley gave customers a special box of Celebrations, the very next day they took it away, but this year… they’ve promised a whole box of only Bountys.

The manufacturer has acknowledged they “caused pain” in releasing a tub of sweets free of the coconut-filled chocolate bar in 2022 — and have now tried to make amends by inviting fans to put their money where their mouths are.

Mars is releasing 300,000 boxes of Bountys, Bountys and more Bountys, which will be released in some Tesco stores from Wednesday in the lead-up to Christmas.

In addition, the Bounty-free tub of Celebrations seems to have been taken away as a ghost of Christmas past, so 2023 will be a time to go (coco) nuts.

Whether it will be a case of being careful what you wish for, having too much of a good thing, or pure marketing genius — it will be seen in sales figures, as well as on social media.

Kerry Cavanaugh, of Mars, said giving Bounty its place in the sun was a first for the company as well as an apology to fans.

“Last year, Bounty lovers made their voices heard and it’s time we give something back,” he said.

“We hope the Bounty Centrepiece will help ease the pain we caused when we removed Bounty last year. We’re excited to see how these tubs are received…are you a Bounty lover, or a hater?!”

The hexagonal tubs will be on display, while stocks last, until December 13, with Mars promoting the offer by driving a celebratory Bounty van around some shops in October.

“The news will be a dream come true for millions of tropical chocolate lovers with 300,000 of the coveted centrepieces being stocked in selected Tesco stores across the UK,” Mr Cavanaugh has said.

Mars has not said if a special Twix, Galaxy Truffle, or Topic box will go on sale, but fans will now know the best way of getting what you want is to start a debate and then complain.
