Pop singer Charlotte Church's former boyfriend Kyle Johnson has been remanded in custody charged with intending to supply Class A drugs with a street value of £10 million.

Johnson, 24, was arrested after attending an east London police station by appointment on Tuesday.

Highgate Magistrates' Court in north London heard he was charged with possession of almost 150 kilograms of high grade heroin which was found at a house in Meath Road, Forest Gate, east London, on December 4 last year.

Wendy Living, chairman of the magistrates, remanded Johnson in custody to appear at Enfield Magistrates' Court in Tottenham by video link on July 30.

Shaven-headed Johnson, who wore a white T-shirt, black cardigan and black jeans, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the brief hearing.

The barber, of Cowbridge Road West, Cardiff, enjoyed an 18-month relationship with Church, who sprang to fame as a child singer.

She is now with Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson and has two children.
