Couple found dead at home are named

12 April 2012

Police have named a couple found dead at their home.

Derek Rose and Jane Holden, both 44, were discovered at their terrace house in Willow Hey, Skelmersdale, Lancashire, just before 8pm on Wednesday.

A Lancashire Police spokeswoman said the pair, who have a daughter, suffered multiple injuries.

The couple are thought to have been partners for more than 30 years. Police are treating their deaths as suspicious but are not looking for anyone else.

Post-mortem examinations are due to be carried out.

Police cordoned off the row of terrace houses on a 1960s estate while forensic teams in white bodysuits carried out their work at the two-storey property where the bodies were found.

Local people stood and watched the police operation. One woman said it was a close-knit community and many extended families lived on the estate.

One neighbour said screams were heard coming from the house on Wednesday night.
