Firefighters are tackling a large blaze at a group of warehouse units in south east London.

Video footage shared on social media shows thick black smoke billowing from the warehouse in Thames Road, Crayford in south London.

Fifteen fire engines and 100 firefighters are at the scene. Neighbouring fire services are also assisting the London Fire Brigade.

A Brigade spokesperson said: "Firefighters are tackling a large warehouse blaze which is producing thick black smoke and we'd ask anyone in the local area or driving past to keep their windows closed."

People said on social media that they could smell smoke from the fire as far out as Lewisham and Welling.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
