UK records 25,161 Covid cases and 37 deaths

As many as 25,161 new coronavirus daily cases have been reported on Monday.

There were 37 more coronavirus related deaths within 24 hours.

It compared to 27,429 recorded on Sunday and 21,952 cases notified last week in the government data.

Nearly three-quarters of the UK’s adults have had both their jabs against coronavirus.

Now as many as 74.8% have had both vaccinations which is the equivalent of 39,551,538 people.

Vaccine passports will be introduced to nightclubs from September where clubbers must prove they have had both jabs.

The news comes amid reports vaccine heistancy has fallen among young people, new figures suggested.

For 16 and 17-year-olds, hesitancy has decreased from 14% to 11%.

Among those aged 18 to 21, hesitancy has dipped from 9% to 5% compared to 22 to 25-year-olds from 10% to 9%.

The Office for National Statistics survey looked closely at the figures between June 23 and July 18.
