Dominic West posed in a socially-distanced family Christmas photo shared by wife Catherine FitzGerald.

FitzGerald, 49, is beaming happily alongside their four children in the snap taken in the grounds of their home in Ireland.

Posting the picture on Instagram, she wrote simply: “Happy Christmas from Glin Castle.”

The festive greetings come two months after West, 51, was photographed embracing fellow actor Lily James, 31, in Rome.

After the controversy in early October, the ‘Affair’ film star flew home and posed for pictures with his wife outside their house in the Cotswolds.

The Wests later said their marriage was “strong” and they were “very much still together”.

The pair declared they were ‘very much together’ following the Lily James controversy

The family’s festive united front also comes hours after a photo emerged of the actor allegedly flouting coronavirus restrictions.

The now-deleted snap showed West enjoying lunch outside with six others near his Wiltshire home over the weekend, in an apparent breach of rule-of-six guidelines.

Theatre producer Nick Allott posted the picture on Instagram with the hashtag #tier2picnic.

In Tier 2 areas, including Wiltshire, six people are permitted to socialise outdoors.

However, the 51-year-old, dressed in a flat cap and Barbour-style jacket, appears to have been among a group of eight: the seven pictured plus the person who took the photo.

Friends of the group have defended the meet-up, citing British Association for Shooting and Conservation guidance that states “group shooting activities are not subject to gathering limits”, the Daily Mail reported.

However, the guidance also states that shoots “must conform to the relevant tier limits and 'the exemption of outdoor physical activity does not apply to associated social activity”.
