Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies has been announced as the sixth celebrity contestant to join Strictly Come Dancing.

The entrepreneur and TV star, 37, will join the star-studded line-up including TV presenter AJ Odudu, Peep Show’s Robert Webb and McFly star Tom Fletcher.

More famous faces have yet to be announced ahead of the show.

Ms Davies said: "My mam and dad are going to be so excited. I’m really nervous because so far the producers keep asking me if I can dance.

"Truth be told, I haven’t got a clue! I’ve not danced since I did ballet lessons when I was little.”

Ms Davies said the business world has taught her “that tenacity, drive and determination deliver results” and she hopes she can bring that to the dancefloor.

She added: "I’m excited to see the impact of all those hours of training on my mum tum!"

Following the news, fellow Strictly contestants John Whaite and AJ Odudu were among the stars congratulating Ms Davies on joining the line-up.

Commenting on Strictly Come Dancing’s official Instagram post, Ms Odudu wrote: “YESSSSSS.”

Mr Whaite commented: “This gal is SO lovely.”

Ms Davies is the founder of global company Crafter’s Companion which specialises in craft tools.

The 37-year-old founded the company while she was a student at university in 2005 and it now employs almost 250 people worldwide.

She joined the cast of Dragons’ Den, in which entrepreneurs get three minutes to pitch their business ideas to tycoons willing to invest their own money, in 2019.

The star stepped into the role to replace Jenny Campbell.

She is the show’s youngest-ever investor.

“I am buzzing to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing 2021,” said Mr Stephenson.

“I have dreamt about being on this show, and I know for a fact that it is going to exceed every expectation," he said.

"I cannot wait to experience it all: the costumes, the orchestra, even Craig’s glare! I am ready!"

Strictly Come Dancing is due to return to BBC One later this year.
