Harry's doubts over pilot training

12 April 2012

Prince Harry has spoken of his self-doubts over being able to cut it as an Army pilot.

The 24-year-old prince said at times he has questioned if he has the mental ability to get through the "intense" flying courses he is undertaking.

Harry is currently training to be a pilot with the Army Air Corps.

He is based at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, where he shares digs with his brother Prince William who is training to become an RAF search and rescue pilot.

The younger sibling said living with his brother was "fantastic".

"We hardly ever see each other. And now we are living together and it's fantastic," Harry said.

He even gave an insight into the domestic arrangements the two princes have in place. "(William) does most of the cooking. I spend time just lying around, watching TV and doing my work."

"The RAF don't have to work as hard as the Army," Harry joked.

As part of his flying courses, Harry has to go through intensive schooling in a number of aircraft including Squirrel helicopters, a machine his brother is already familiar with.

William has reportedly been giving tips to his brother ahead of his first helicopter flight in the coming weeks.
