James May vows to live in Lego home

12 April 2012

Hundreds of people are expected to help Top Gear presenter James May build a new house out of Lego bricks.

The full-sized, two-storey building is to feature a working shower and toilet, with May vowing to live in it for a few days after it is completed.

More than three million Lego bricks have been delivered to the site, but May has asked for more to be donated as it is not known exactly how many will be needed.

Bricks are to be made out of the Lego pieces and then laid at the Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey.

Organisers are expecting the vineyard to be filled with fans wanting to help May on the first day of the construction process, which is expected to last six days.

A total of 600 free tickets are available to members of the public wanting to take part, with people being warned they could be turned away due to high demand.

The event is being filmed for BBC series James May's Toy Stories.

The presenter won an award for a Plasticine garden he created at the Chelsea Flower Show for an earlier show.
