Jeremy Kyle news: Show wiped from ITV online player as programme suspended indefinitely and episode cancelled after death of guest

The Jeremy Kyle Show has been pulled from TV screens, wiped from ITV's online player and suspended indefinitely after the death of a guest.

ITV bosses said they would not screen the episode due to be aired this morning which featured the individual. The person died a week after the recording.

ITV bosses said "their thoughts are with their family and friends."

An ITV spokeswoman said: "Everyone at ITV and The Jeremy Kyle Show is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show a week after the recording of the episode they featured in and our thoughts are with their family and friends.

“ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured."

The Radio Times said of today's cancelled episode: "The host invites guests to air their differences over family and relationship issues, and provides them with his own brand of no-nonsense advice."

Viewers first noticed the show was axed this morning when they tuned in to watch.

The episode was supposed to be a "family feud special"

One person wrote online: "Anyone got it? Any explanation?"

Another wrote: "Where the hell is Jeremy Kyle this morning?"

A third person said: "Why have i got Dickinson's real deal on my tv when it should be Jeremy Kyle?"

This morning's programme, that was due to be aired at 9.30am today, was replaced at short notice with an episode of Dickinson's Real Deal.

Viewers were left baffled when the show did not air this morning

ITV has now wiped all episodes of the programme from its on-demand service the ITV Hub, and episodes will not air on ITV2.

The Jeremy Kyle Show's official YouTube account still has clips from the programme available to watch.

The Jeremy Kyle show, which first aired in July 2005, has seen more than 3,100 episodes over 15 series.

The ITV programme features its host, Jeremy Kyle, aiming to resolve confrontations and issues between two or more guests.

Guests are asked to discuss personal problems with Kyle, who provides mediation between involved parties, with common issues on the show including uncertainty paternity of a child, petty theft amongst family members, infidelity or addiction to drugs.

The show has garnered negative reviews but continues to draw in high ratings. A US version even aired in 2011 for two seasons.

Kyle was a former life insurance salesman, who moved into radio as a sport show host until he joined ITV in 2005 to host the eponymous show.
