Standard Reporter14 February 2015

Motorists have been advised to avoid a stretch of the M1 after a serious crash involving a coach and a car.

Bedfordshire Police said the collision on the northbound carriageway of the motorway between junctions 12 and 13, near Flitwick, at around 6.45am had resulted in a number of serious injuries.

In a statement, the force said: "The northbound carriageway only has been closed for a full collision investigation and diversions are being established.

"Motorists are advised that these diversions are likely to be in place for most of the day and to plan alternative routes."

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Bedfordshire Police on 101.
