Man charged over SAS soldier kidnap

A man has been charged with kidnapping and falsely imprisoning British soldier Robert Nairac 30 years ago in Northern Ireland.

The 57-year-old suspect will appear in court on Thursday in connection with the 1977 disappearance of the undercover Army officer in south Armagh.

He will appear at Newry Magistrates' Court after being charged by detectives.

Kevin Crilly was arrested on Tuesday at an address in the village of Jonesborough, South Armagh.

Captain Nairac, 29, was captured by the IRA, interrogated and shot. His body was never recovered.

Six men were convicted for their part in the killing, three for murder.
