A 62-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a taxi driver whose body was found near a railway station.

Derbyshire Police said the man, who has not been named, would appear before magistrates in Derby accused of killing 43-year-old Stuart Ludlam.

The body of Mr Ludlam, who had been shot, was discovered in the boot of his vehicle on an approach road to Cromford station, near Matlock, on September 17.

Mr Ludlam, from Darley Dale, was married with three children aged two, 12 and 15, and worked for Middleton-by-Wirksworth-based MJ Taxis.

The taxi driver was found dead in his Ford Focus at around 12.40pm on September 17. A post-mortem concluded that he died after being shot with a firearm.
