12 April 2012

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his ex-girlfriend.

The man argued with the 18-year-old woman before she was stabbed in Enderby Road, Luton, at about 8pm on Saturday, Bedfordshire police said.

The man is currently being detained at nearby Lister Hospital after suffering an injury. Police said his condition was not life-threatening.

The woman's identity is expected to be released on Monday along with the results of a post-mortem examination, police added.

The case is being led by Detective Chief Inspector John Giles of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
