The Duchess of Sussex has posted an adorable photo to Instagram to celebrate her first Mother’s Day with son Archie.

The image of Los Angeles-raised Meghan holding her son’s feet was shared on the royal couple’s account on the American date for festivities.

It was captioned: "Paying tribute to all mothers today, past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.

"We honour and celebrate each and every one of you."

It continued: This is the first Mother’s Day for the Duchess of Sussex.

“Quote from ‘lands’: my mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived.”

While Mother's Day is celebrated in the UK in March, it was held on Sunday in the States, as well as in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Kenya and Japan.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first son, who is seventh in line to the throne, was born weighing 7lb 3oz on Monday.

Meghan and Harry named the boy Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, opting not to give him a courtesy title.
