The EuroMillions jackpot will be a staggering £167 million on Tuesday which, if scooped by a single winner, would make it Britain and Europe's largest-ever lottery win.

The huge haul is due to nobody claiming the giant rollover of £157m on Friday night.

The record sum is £6 million more than the previous biggest win of £161m, won in 2011 by Colin and Chris Weir of Largs in Scotland.

A single winner taking the jackpot may be richer than Tom Jones, whose amassed fortune is estimated by the Sunday Times Rich List at about £160m.

They'd also be richer than Elisabeth Murdoch, believed to be worth £156m.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said: “At an estimated £167 million Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot will be the biggest ever offered to National Lottery players in the UK.

"A single UK winner would be biggest this country and Europe has ever seen. We urge players to get their ticket early to be in with a chance and also to help raise more millions for National Lottery Good Causes."

The UK's second-biggest winners were Gillian and Adrian Bayford from Haverhill, Suffolk who won £148 million in 2012.

Other big winners include a ticket holder who banked £113m in October 2010 but decided not to go public, and Dave Dawes and wife Angela, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, who claimed £101m last October.

The draw kicks off at 7.30pm.
