The teenage wildcard who stunned Wimbledon by knocking out Rafael Nadal is winning hearts by donating money to the Rally for Bally cancer fund for every ace he serves at the tournament.

Australian Nick Kyrgios shocked the All England Club yesterday as he beat 14-time Grand Slam champion Nadal in a stylish performance which featured one of the most memorable shots Centre Court has seen in recent years.

The 19-year-old, who is ranked 144th in the world and is playing at his first Wimbledon, has pledged to donate £5 for every ace he serves to a fund set up in memory of British tennis player Elena Baltacha.

Rally for Bally was established after the former British world number one Baltacha lost her battle with liver cancer and died aged 30 in May.

The fund has already seen more than £66,000 raised for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and The Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis.

If Kyrgios can keep up his success at this year's Wimbledon, he should be on course to add to the hundreds of pounds he has already raised with his ace mission.
