The Attorney General has decided not to take action against a Muslim woman thrown off a murder trial jury for allegedly listening to music.
The 20-year-old was arrested after a fellow juror apparently spotted MP3 headphone wires poking from the side of her hijab.
At the time, a pensioner accused of bludgeoning his wife to death after 50 years of marriage was giving evidence.
The hearing at London's Blackfriars Crown Court was temporarily halted while she was discharged and then arrested.
The case was referred to Attorney General Baroness Scotland by judge Aidan Marron QC, for consideration of proceedings in the High Court.
But a statement released by the Attorney General's Office on Thursday said there was "insufficient evidence".
The statement read: "The Attorney General has considered carefully the papers in this matter, in particular the witness statements, and has concluded that there is insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of proving beyond reasonable doubt any alleged contempt of court."
The man on trial was later found guilty and jailed for life.
