12 April 2012

A man has been stabbed to death close to a petrol station in south-east London, police said.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was discovered with a stab wound to his upper body at about 10.30pm on Monday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, close to the Total garage in Old Kent Road, at 11pm.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were trying to establish the identity of the victim - who is described as North African in appearance - and to inform his next of kin.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

No arrests have been made, police said.
