Teenager faces student stab charge

A teenager is due to appear in court accused of murdering an 18-year-old student who died after being stabbed in the neck.

Aliza Mirza, from Ilford, east London, was found in nearby Manor Park on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to Forest View Road at around 7.40pm amid reports that a woman had collapsed.

Miss Mirza was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old male, from Ilford, was accused of her murder and will appear at Stratford Magistrates Court.

A 45-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of murder was bailed until mid April.

Two women, aged 20 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and bailed until late April along with a 42-year-old man.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of Miss Mirza's death as a stab wound to the neck.
