The number of UK cases of swine flu rose above 2,500 with a further 245 people confirmed as having the virus, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) said.
The new cases bring the UK total to 2,506 since April.
The 245 people who have been newly diagnosed are all in England, the HPA said.
Of the cases confirmed, 146 were in the West Midlands which has now seen 1,006 people confirmed with swine flu and is the region of England worst affected by the virus.
There were 35 new cases in London, taking the total to 450.
The virus was also confirmed in 28 people in the South East, 15 in Yorkshire and Humber, 13 in the East of England, five in the East Midlands, two in the South West and one person in the North East.
