Hollywood star James Woods has revealed he is lucky to be alive after a horror crash in the Rocky Mountains.
The Nixon star, 68, said he was left concussed after the seven-vehicle accident in an ice-storm.
He posted details of the crash in a dramatic series of tweets in which he said he was "happy to be alive" after the ordeal.
Woods wrote: "Rockies, guy doing 75+ in an ice storm spun out. I hit right wall to avoid him, spun 180, hit left wall sliding backwards going 60 mph.
"Huge drop 100 feet into river below, but the guardrail held. I managed to pull out and slide down out of oncoming traffic.
"I slid below it. No deaths. Banged up. Car wrecked. Good to be alive. Glad everybody survived.
"Including me it was a seven car crash, I guess," he added.
Woods said he had been driving his "old tank" - a four-wheel drive Jeep - in the US state of Colarado when the accident happened.
The three-time Emmy Award-winner also said police told him at the scene that he was the only driver not to have hit anybody else.
Woods is best known for his roles in US presidential biopic Nixon and Casino.
In 1987 he won a Golden Globe Award for his role in Promise, and he has also been twice nominated for Academy Awards.
