A cyclist is undergoing surgery to replace her ruptured breast implants which were popped by a kangaroo kick.

Sharon Heinrich, 45, and her friend were cycling on the Riesling Trail in the Clare Valley in southern Australia when they when the kangaroo jumped up and kicked the pair to the ground.

As well as needed surgery on her breasts, Mrs Heinrich also broke three ribs in the ordeal.

She told Australia’s Northern Argus: “I saw him and thought ‘oh isn’t he cute’ – then he was on top of me.

“I’m 5ft 4 and he was taller than me, and so heavy.

“Once he landed on me, he used me to launch off again, which caused more damage."

According to Mrs Heinrich, her friend Helen Salter, 47, suffered a concussion and whiplash after being knocked over by the kangaroo last Wednesday.

Mrs Heinrich also paid tribute to her breast implants, which she states saved her life.

She added: “When the surgeon saw me in Adelaide he said I was lucky to be alive – kangaroos are sold muscle and incredibly powerful.”

Mrs Heinrich is due to have her breast implants replaced in Adelaide on Friday.
