Chinese boy's eyeballs 'not gouged out by organ transplant gang'

A six-year-old boy whose eyes were gouged out after he was lured into a field is recovering in hospital as the authorities offer a reward for information on his attacker.

Police in northern China have launched a massive search for the woman accused of maiming the child and are offering 100,000 yuan (£11,000) for her capture.

State media initially raised the possibility the attack was carried out by organ traders, but police said the boy’s eyeballs were found at the scene intact.
