Donald Trump may choose to run with Tucker Carlson as his vice president if he wins the Republican Party’s 2024 nomination, the former president’s son has said.

When asked about whether his father was “serious about Tucker Carlson”, Donald Trump Jr. said the match was “clearly on the table”.

He told Newsmax's Wake Up America on Thursday morning: “I mean they're very friendly, I think they agree on virtually all of these things.

“I would love to see that happen. That would certainly be a contender,' the former president's eldest son said, adding that Trump and Carlson agree on 'stopping the never-ending war’.

“You need someone who's in alignment, as well as, like, aggressive. You actually need a fighter.

“The Republicans in Washington, D.C., are weak. You can have the House, the Senate, and they'll still roll over.”

Mr Don Trump Jr. went on to add that he would not rule out Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, but said he would “do whatever he could to make sure it wasn’t Nikki Haley”.

Trump delivered a record-breaking defeat against his rivals including Mr DeSantis, Ms Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy when he won the Iowa caucuses this week.

The ex-leader has employed a non-engagement strategy in the race, skipping all debates.
