Amsterdam stabbing: Dutch police shoot knifeman after two people attacked outside train station

Dutch police have shot a suspect after two people were stabbed outside Amsterdam's main train station.

Terrified onlookers told of their shock at the heightened police presence after the stabbings today at Amsterdam's Centraal station.

The station was shut down as an emergency response was launched by police.

Police said two people were injured in the stabbing and a tunnel under the tracks was closed following the incident.

The stabbing victims and the suspect were taken to hospital.

It is not known if the incident is terror-related. The station was not evacuated

Ozo Nwogu wrote online: "Shots fired at Amsterdam Centraal. So much police presence.

Another person posted: "Many ambulances at Amsterdam Centraal Station. Helicopter above. Nobody knows what’s going on."
