The Emmy Awards will require guests and nominees to provide proof of vaccination and a negative Covid-19 test.

Celebrities attending the US premiere television awards in September will have to show both evidence of immunisation and a recent negative test result to enter.

Lead nominees include Olivia Colman, Emma Corrin, Rege-Jean Page and Kate Winslet.

Both The Crown and Bridgerton are up for the outstanding drama series Emmy alongside The Handmaid’s Tale, This Is Us, The Boys, Pose, The Mandalorian and Lovecraft Country.

Organisers previously confirmed the ceremony is being limited because of the rise in delta variant cases across the US.

Nominated teams of three or more will be limited to four tickets, the TV Academy said.

It means not all celebrities up for an award will be allowed to attend the event on September 19.

The rules on a negative test and immunisation also apply to the three Creative Arts events taking place the previous weekend.

All the ceremonies are due to take place at LA Live, an entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles.

The Oscars also saw a limited guest list and a stripped back red carpet in April.

However those who did attend the prestigious film awards in LA were not required to wear face coverings.
