Godfrey Gao dead: Actor, 35, dies after falling ill on set in China

Model and actor Godfrey Gao has died after suffering an apparent heart attack while on set in China.

His agency, JetStar Entertainment, confirmed his death. He was 35.

The Taiwan-born Gao, who grew up in Canada, initially rose to fame by becoming the first Asian male model for the luxury brand Louis Vuitton.

He acted in numerous television dramas and movies, including a role in the Hollywood film The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones.

He was filming Chase Me, a Chinese sports reality show, at the time of his death.

The producers said he was running in a team race when he fell ill.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
