Hilarious clip shows Hillary Clinton practise 'avoiding a Trump hug' during election debate preparations

Hillary Clinton said she “burst out laughing” when a video emerged of her pretending to “avoid a Trump hug” during preparations for a debate during the US Election campaign.

The hilarious footage, shot in October last year, was shared on Twitter by the former Democratic candidate’s aide Philippe Reines.

It shows Reines, who was standing in for now US President Donald Trump, lunge at Hillary with his arms outstretched.

She attempts to dodge a cuddle and turn the hug into a handshake but is caught by the aide who wraps his arms tightly around her and refuses to let go.

He wrote in a tweet: “Not easy to avoid the unwanted Trump hug, sometimes it even takes practise... A favourite moment from debate prep.”

Hillary retweeted the clip and added: “I burst out laughing when I saw this video. Hope it brightens your day."
