Lovestruck teenager plunges from 23rd floor after trying to impress girl with balcony pull-ups

A love-struck teenager fell 23 floors from a balcony in a failed stunt to “impress a girl” – but miraculously survived when a taxi broke his fall.

Alexander Shadrin, 16, fell 230 feet after climbing over the railing of a balcony at his home in Novosibirsk, Siberia, in a bid to show-off to a potential suitor, the Siberian Times reported.

The teen’s macho stunt failed when he failed to hang on to the railing and hurtled to the ground.

Dramatic images show a buckled Renault Logan taxi which “cushioned the youngster’s fall” – saving his life.

Alexander suffered “serious injuries” and is in a stable condition in intensive care.

A spokesman for the Novosibirsk branch of the Investigative Committee – the Russian equivalent of the FBI – said the boy had “clung on for some time” before dropping to the ground.

The driver was not inside his vehicle at the time.

Investigators have taken statements from witnesses including relatives of the boy.

The identities of the girl he was seeking to impress and his relatives have not been made public.
