Police in Poland are appealing for help to identify a man claiming to be suffering from memory loss and can only speak English.

The man, believed to be aged around 35-years-old, was found wandering the streets of Gniezno, Poland, at the beginning of March.

Police have released images of the mystery man in an attempt to try and find somebody who can recognise him and help establish his identity.

Concerned locals called the police after he was seen walking into traffic and appeared to look disorientated.

He was taken to a mental health unit at a nearby hospital and is unable to tell doctors his name, where he was born or where he lives.

Authorities say he has no idea why he is in Poland, how he got there and he does not know the original country he comes from.

Gniezno police describe the man as 6ft 3in tall with short ginger hair. He was wearing a black jacket, grey jumper, a yellow t-shirt and black jeans when he was found.

Anyone who can help identify him can contact Gniezno Police on +48 61 426 02 16.
