Tiger Woods has denied reports he cheated on his former girlfriend with the ex-wife of a fellow professional golfer.

The sportsman was allegedly dumped by Olympic skiing champion Lindsey Vonn after she found out about the “steamy affair”, according to a US magazine.

Woods, 39, is said to have started a relationship with Amanda Boyd — who divorced 2013 PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner in April — while he was still seeing Vonn.

But Woods, whose marriage to Elin Nordegren ended in 2010 after it emerged he had repeatedly cheated on her, dismissed the report in the National Enquirer.

His agent Mark Steinberg, who is with the golfer in West Virginia ahead of the first round of the Greenbriar Classic today, said: “There is zero truth to the rumour. It is absolutely 100 per cent false.”

Woods and Dufner, 38, played together for the US Presidents Cup team in 2013 and are said to be acquaintances on the pro tour.

Dufner and Boyd, 27, married in May 2012 but separated this February. According to court papers, the couple filed for divorce claiming the “irretrievable breakdown of the marriage” in March and the relationship was officially over the following month.

Of Boyd’s alleged relationship with Woods, an unnamed source told the Enquirer: “At first, it was just innocent flirting, but earlier this year it became serious.”

The report claims when Dufner learned his ex-wife had been seeing Woods he was “devastated”. Although Dufner won the PGA Championship two years ago, his form has suffered since because of back problems.

Woods’s performance at last month’s US Open was interrupted when a plane flew over the course with a banner reading “cheater”. He missed the cut.

Vonn, 30, broke off her relationship with Woods in May. At the time, she said on Facebook that they both led “incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.”

Woods has two children with Ms Nordegren.
