TikTok was hit with technical troubles Thursday afternoon with users around the world reporting the site was down.
The hugely popular video-sharing app appeared to begin having issues around 11.30am UK time.
Many took to the website DownDetector, which monitors outages on popular websites, to report the site was down.
Among the comments, one said: “What's going on TikTok I can't see any of my friends videos and it's saying I don't have any published videos and I do”.
Another added: “Comments not loading at all - anyone else?”
Reports of the outages came from across the UK according to the site - with high numbers of outages reported in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
In the United States, users in New York and Atlanta are among those reporting problems with the popular app.
TikTok has yet to comment on the cause of the problem.
It comes just over a week after the popular site revealed it was ditching its three minute limit on videos to allow all users to upload clips up to 10 minutes long.
TikTok brought in the existing limit in July 2021, upping it from 60 seconds.
While the app was initially seen as a short-form video platform, it is now hosting longer content.
It positions itself as a rival to other popular social media sites such as Instagram.
The Standard has contacted TikTok for comment on the cause of the outage.
