A chief aide to President Donald Trump was left red-faced after his 'to-do list' was apparently accidentally shared online in a photograph from a leading US rabbi.

Rabbi Shmuley, a well-known Jewish public speaker, TV host and author in the US, posted a photo of himself on Twitter standing next to top government strategist Steve Bannon during a tour of the White House.

But the background of the shot shows a whiteboard revealing the lengthy to-do list of President Trump’s right-hand-man.

Scrawled in a marker pen, the list includes tasks already ticked such as “suspend immigration from terror-prone regions” and “suspend the Syrian Refugee Programme”.

Another task, which cannot be read fully as the photograph cuts off the end, reads: “Build the border wall and eventually make Mexico…”

Other jobs on the list read: “Finally complete the biometric entry-exit visa…”, “implement new extreme immigration vetting…”, “issue detainers for all illegal immigrants” and “sunset our visa laws so that Congress is forced to revise and revisit them”.

There are also several references to “defeat ISIS”.

Tasks are grouped into “pledges on Obamacare”, “pledges on tax reform” as well as the lengthier “pledges on immigration”.

The list also includes plans to introduce the immigration enforcement Davis-Oliver bill as well as Kate’s law, based on the idea of a mandatory prison sentence for non-Americans who illegally re-enter the US.

Many people on Twitter quickly noticed the background of the picture and shared zoomed-in shots of the handwritten to-do list.

One woman said: “Seems the Rabbi is pretty smart to capture policy on camera.”

Rabbi Shmuley’s tweet also tagged the wrong Steve Bannon, using the Twitter handle of a Scottish man who lives in England.

The Scottish Mr Bannon later tweeted: "Oh here we go again... it's been nice and quiet the last few weeks."

The Orthodox Jewish rabbi, whose full name is Shmuel Boteach, has written 30 books and was ranked as one of the top 50 most influential rabbis in the US by Newsweek magazine.
