Man injured in pub attack dies
A man has died of his injuries nearly two weeks after being attacked outside a pub, police said.
David Forbes, 42, from Dundee, fell to the ground after being punched by a man outside The Rocket pub on Euston Road, central London, on November 25.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said he was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury but was pronounced dead late on Friday night. His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination is due to be held.
Officers from the Homicide & Serious Crime Command are investigating the assault, which happened at around 2.25am.
Witnesses said Mr Forbes was approached by a man who punched him and he hit his head on the ground when he fell. The suspect then walked off with a group of men and a woman towards King's Cross.
He is described as a white man, around 5ft 9ins and aged between 25 to 30 years. He is thought to have a muscular build with short dark hair and was wearing a plain white T-shirt.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this seemingly unprovoked attack or who knows the whereabouts of the suspect.
"I also wish to speak to anyone who may have seen the victim or suspect earlier in the evening."
