Two held over triple death blaze

Police have named three victims of a fatal house fire as they continued questioning their neighbours on suspicion of murder.

Lee-Anna Shiers, aged 20, was killed with niece Skye Allen, aged two, and nephew Bailey Allen, aged four, when their first floor flat in Prestatyn, North Wales, was engulfed in flames.

Miss Shiers' partner Liam Timbrell, aged 23, and their son Charlie Timbrell, aged 15 months, are being treated in hospital.

North Wales Police arrested two ground floor tenants, a man, aged 45, and a woman, aged 42, on suspicion of murder.

Firefighters dragged the five victims from the flat in Maes Y Groes, Prestatyn, at 10pm on Friday.

A Welsh Ambulance Services spokeswoman said the survivors were taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital. Mr Timbrell, was remains in a critical but stable condition, was later transferred to Whiston Hospital, Merseyside.

Charlie was moved to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

Detective Superintendent John Chapman said: "My heart goes out to the family and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."

He added: "We would appeal for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Maes y Groes area of Prestatyn yesterday evening to get in contact as soon as possible by calling us on 101.

"We are deploying family liaison officers to work closely with the next of kin at this difficult time. There is a team of dedicated officers working on specific lines of inquiry in relation to this incident."
