Giants back on top

Danny Brough kicked six goals for the Giants

Huddersfield regained top spot in Super League with a 40-24 win at Castleford.

Winger Jermaine McGillvary bagged two tries and half-back Danny Brough kicked six goals as the Giants avenged last season's 52-6 hammering by the Tigers to move one point clear of Wigan at the head of the table.

The Tigers, without a win in nine games, scored 18 points in the last four minutes thanks to tries from Adam Milner, Daryl Clark and Jonathan Walker, with Jamie Ellis adding the extras, but they remain at the foot of the table after a dreadful first-half display.

Despite taking an early lead, Castleford trailed 28-6 at half-time after conceding five tries in a 17-minute spell, including two while England stand-off Rangi Chase was in the sin-bin.

Shaun Lunt, Joe Wardle, Aaron Murphy, Luke Robinson and Brett Ferres also crossed for the Giants.

Jarrod Sammut scored four tries as he guided Bradford to a 46-20 come-from-behind win against the London Broncos in Wycombe.

Sammut also booted seven goals for a 30-point haul as the Bulls maintained their promising start to the campaign. Danny Addy, Chev Walker and Elliott Whitehead (two) also crossed for the visitors.

For the Broncos it was a sixth home game without a win this season - despite a first-half hat-trick from Kieran Dixon. Michael Witt contributed the rest of their points, including a 14th-minute try.
