Black Friday this year is taking place today – on November 26.

Instead of just cutting the RRP on its range of blends, organic, grain and whisky from around the world as well as on spirits and champagne, the retailer is also offering one very special item. A Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky exclusively available on the site.
The 22-year-old Speysider is one of those failsafe presents we were just talking about – designed to be savoured with every clink of the tumbler.
Let’s begin with the scent. It has opening notes of fruit – sweet apple, white-wine-poached pear, raisins, sultanas, flambéed pineapple and creamy banana. The taste evolves with a surprising hint of mint, followed by a sweetness from madeira-soaked spiced sponge cake and as the brand describes as “old, wax-polished floors”. Stick with us though.
As far as taste is concerned, there’s a rich, creamy almost coffee-like flavour that overtakes the fruit element. It becomes darker on the palette with undertones of polished oak and bittersweet dark chocolate. Spicy cinnamon and clove, and a balancing dusting of brown sugar make for the ultimate seasonal beverage.
