For those in the market for a thrill, abseiling can provide you as big adrenaline rush as you would need in one day. Better still, make it a day for charity and you will score top Brownie points all round.

The disability care charity, Leonard Cheshire, are holding an abseiling descent of the former Bankside power station, which houses Tate Modern. As participants descend the 70 foot drop they will be treated to some of the most magnificent views of London - the Thames, St Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge.

All novice abseilers are welcome, as training will be given on the day by a professional abseiling team. It's a great event for individuals, but even more so if you get your friends and family involved - the more the merrier!

Each participant will be asked to pay a £20 registration fee and raise a minimum of £80 to take part on the day.Even if you're not brave enough to abseil, it will be a great day of entertainment watching the daredevils in action.
