Adele has been booked to sing at the X Factor final - her first show since throat surgery.

The climax of the series is at Wembley Arena on December 11 and it is hoped the singer, 23, will have recovered in time. She was diagnosed with a vocal cord haemorrhage in October. A string of shows in the UK and US were cancelled after she had surgery in America. She is now resting.

Her X Factor booking will see her perform a duet with one of the finalists. Other acts booked to appear include Coldplay and Michael Bublé.

A show insider said: "Adele is one of the world's biggest stars so we'd love her to perform at the final. We're just hoping that she recovers by then."

Adele wrote on her blog: "I'm doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all.

"The operation was a success and I'm just chilling out now until I get the all-clear from
my doctors."
