Adele gets so nervous on stage she can't stop talking.

The 'Rolling in the Deep' singer has admitted that when she's performing she can't help but start chattering - a trait she says she inherited from her grandmother.

She explained: "I get so nervous on stage I can't help but talk. I try. I try telling my brain: stop sending words to the mouth. But I get nervous and turn into my grandma.

"Behind the eyes it's pure fear. I find it difficult to believe I'm going to be able to deliver."

And despite receiving rave reviews for her moving performance of break-up ballad 'Someone Like You', which she sang live at the BRIT Awards earlier this month, the British star still finds it hard to have faith in her talent and admitted she thought the night would be a "disaster."

She told the Observer's New Review: "I sh*t myself. I was on between Take That and Rihanna, the biggest productions of the night. All day I was thinking, 'This is gonna be a disaster!' "

The song, which is from Adele's latest album '21', was inspired by her real-life heartbreak, with the songstress recently revealing her music is influenced by an "amazing, immense relationship" which came to an end.

She said: "I had the most amazing, immense relationship. It didn't last, unfortunately - it stopped being fun, but thankfully the ending wasn't bitter. The whole thing changed me. It made me really passionate about love, life, me - pretty much everything."
