Arctic Monkeys take on ticket touts with 'fair ballot' system
The Arctic Monkeys are taking on ticket touts to avoid fans being deprived of tickets for their UK tour which starts next month.
The band are implementing a Glastonbury-style ticket system to head off the potential of tickets ending up on eBay and being sold for hundreds of pounds.
The "fair ballot" system means fans have to sign up to the mailing list on the official website arcticmonkeys.com by 7pm this evening.
On Friday a random ballot will choose the lucky fans who get tickets. They will be sent a unique PIN number which gives them until Monday to buy.
The band are hitting the road ahead of the release of their second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare, on April 23.
The Arctics said: "We are trying hard to fight against touting and so invite you to take part in a fair ballot to get tickets for this tour."
