Ariana Grande‘s Wicked co-star Ethan Slater has changed his Instagram profile settings to private amid reports the pair are romantically involved.

Grande is set to play Glinda in the film adaptation of the popular Broadway and West End show, while Slater will play Boq, the love interest of Elphaba’s sister Nessarose.

Her new relationship with stage actor Slater started during filming, according to US website TMZ, following her split from husband and luxury realtor Dalton Gomez.

The singer and Gomez are said to have separated in January after two years of marriage, although the news was only announced this week.

Grande first sparked speculation that her marriage was in trouble when she was seen without her wedding ring at Wimbledon while watching the men’s final and then again in Bond Street where she was seen shopping with Erivo.

Following news of her and Gomez’s split, People reported that the singer had begun dating Slater, with a source telling them: “Ariana and Dalton separated in January.

“She and Ethan recently began dating, and he is separated from his wife.”

Meanwhile, another insider told Entertainment Tonight that the co-stars “didn’t start dating until both were broken up with their significant others”.

Slater has been married to his wife, Lilly Jay, since 2018. Back in January, the Broadway star revealed that they had welcomed a son, named Erza, together.

Elsewhere, production on Wicked has been halted, with director Jon M Chu recently saying that filming was only days away from finishing before the US actors’ strike.

As well as Grande, the film also stars Jonathan Bailey, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum.

The film, largely made on location in the UK, is still expected to come out in cinemas next December.

The singer – known for UK number ones 7 Rings, Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored and Thank U, Next – last album was Positions, her sixth record, released in October 2020, which was a British Number One.
