Arlene Phillips heads back to the dancefloor for a one-night-only performance when she struts her stuff at the National Television Awards tonight.

She will leave her ringside seat to show she can do more than just talk the talk as she shows off her fancy footwork with finalists from her BBC1 show So You Think You Can Dance.

The veteran choreographer, 66, will show she is far from past it by performing an "electrifying" routine in an Alexander McQueen frock to Christina Aguilera's hit Ain't No Other Man.

Back to the dancefloor: Arlene Phillips will be performing

The performance will be one of the highlights as Britain's top TV shows battle it out for the honours at the 15th staging of the awards.

Ant and Dec are hoping to be among the big winners with three nominations at the showpiece bash at the O2 Arena in south-east London.

However they can only win two titles as they face themselves in one category, with Ant And Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! competing for best entertainment programme.

The category also includes Big Brother, which is being axed this year after a decade, and The Paul O'Grady Show, which saw the host bid an emotional farewell to viewers last month.

Ant and Dec are also shortlisted as best entertainment presenter, along with Holly Willoughby, Michael McIntyre and Paul O'Grady.

Three Davids - A Touch Of Frost star David Jason, David Tennant, who regenerated into Matt Smith in Doctor Who on New Year's Day, and Shameless actor David Threlfall - take on Philip Glenister of Ashes To Ashes in the drama performance nominations list.

The serial drama performance category includes three Coronation Street stars - Gray O'Brien, Katherine Kelly and Simon Gregson - against EastEnder Lacey Turner.

In the talent show category, The X Factor takes on Britain's Got Talent, Dancing On Ice and Strictly Come Dancing.

The awards, hosted by Dermot O'Leary, will also feature X Factor twins John and Edward Grimes and the talent show's winner, Joe McElderry.

It will be screened live on ITV1 from 7.30pm.
